My role

As a member of the design team, I help set the standards and define how our brand looks and feels across multiple touch points. The primary touch point is the marketing website. The first major project of the rebrand, after crafting the new brand guidelines, was to redesign the People Data Labs website.

Website redesign & Dashboard design

Context

Background

Redesigning the website had been in the marketing and product team backlogs for a long time. When the design team started the rebrand, we knew this would be a critical component. When discussing plans for the rebrand rollout, we decided we would start using the new color palette, illustrations, motions, and typography in all new collateral (e-books, social media, webinar promotion, etc.) but to wait for the launch of the new website to really start promoting People Data Labs’ new identity. We completed the designs for the website in December of 2022 and it launched in Q2 of 2023.

The Results

The navigation bar had several nested menus, so the information architecture, layout, interaction, and motion had to be carefully considered. I worked with developers to implement microinteractions to give immediate user feedback to help guide them through the site.

Resource Library user flow

I collaborated with a UX designer to rework the user flow for accessing and downloading resources for our resource library. We were able to simplify the process from one which required filling out a seven-field form and receiving via an email link, to a just a few clicks and a single-field form. Resource downloads increased by over 200% in the first quarter following the change.

Modular content blocks

Designs were created using our design system with modular components so they could be re-used across the site and to optimize the creation of future pages and content.
