My role

I directed and produced two product explainer videos, each covering one of People Data Labs’ most popular and promoted products: the Person Enrichment API and the Person Search API. I met with the product marketing and content teams to understand the key features and concepts that we wanted to highlight about each product and we collaboratively developed a script for each. I sketched out storyboards and style frames to nail down the visuals and look and also hired and oversaw the voiceover and sourced music. I was fully responsible for production and post-production. Once production was complete, we redesigned each of the product pages on the website to feature the videos, and also ran them both complete and in 15s & 30s edits as ads.

Comprehensive Person Search: Streamlined innovation with B2B data

Background

People Data Labs wanted to expand its marketing strategy to incorporate animated and video content. After strategizing with leadership on the marketing team, we decided to start with two product explainer videos: one for each of their most popular APIs, while simultaneously developing video content in the form of webinars and product tutorials. I was responsible for leading project from start to finish and collaborated with their team of talented content writers and product marketing experts to develop the content.

The Process

After developing a script with the product marketers and content writers, I put my visual ideas in storyboards so that we could make sure the illustrations would resonate with our prospective customers. We went through several iterations of storyboards and animatics before beginning production.

Storyboards

Animatic

After putting our initial ideas form the storyboard to the timed voiceover, we decided to make a few major changes, including removing the characters from the beginning and opening with engaging motion graphics instead.
